Our reporting principle

We would rather report a limitation clearly than turn it into an unsupported success claim.

Programme figures should show what the available records support and distinguish delivery from intention, referral from completion, and an outstanding need from an outcome.

Safeguarding & dignity

Learner welfare comes before content.

Learner welfare takes priority over visibility.
Participation in a programme does not automatically mean consent for publicity.
Only necessary personal and health information should be collected and shared.
Photography and storytelling should follow appropriate school, caregiver and programme consent processes.
Pity-based or humiliating before-and-after storytelling is not an acceptable substitute for evidence.
Clinical decisions remain with appropriately qualified professionals.

Consent is not a content strategy.

Financial transparency

Transparency should grow with the organisation.

Financial documents and programme records are maintained for organisational governance and legitimate funder due diligence. Public impact reporting focuses on independently supportable programme-level outcomes.

We do not publish bank statements, transaction histories or personal banking information as a substitute for proper financial reporting.

Data & privacy

Collect only what the work genuinely requires.

School vision programmes can involve personal and health information. Public reporting should therefore use aggregated or appropriately authorised information wherever possible.

Necessary records should be handled with clear purpose, appropriate access controls and respect for the privacy of learners and families.

Rolled Sleeves works with schools, appropriately qualified eye-care professionals, donors and delivery partners to improve access to suitable vision support.

Our programme archive makes clear what was delivered, which referrals remain outstanding and where further follow-through is needed.
