Donor information

Terms & Conditions

These terms explain who receives your contribution, how donations support our work, and where to get help with payments.

Effective 15 October 2026

1. Who we are

Rolled Sleeves Foundation is the public-facing name of ROLLED SLEEVES OUTREACH PROGRAM NPC, a South African non-profit company registered with CIPC under 2023/951241/08. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “the Foundation” refer to that company.

The Foundation is administered remotely and does not advertise a public walk-in office or clinic. Registered-office details and supporting company documents can be requested for formal correspondence and legitimate due diligence.

2. Scope of these terms

These terms apply to this website and voluntary donations made to the Foundation. Please read them alongside our Cancellation & Refund Policy and Privacy notice before contributing. Separate written agreements may apply to institutional grants, restricted gifts or sponsorships; those agreements govern their agreed scope without limiting mandatory legal rights.

Use the website lawfully, provide accurate contact and payment information, and use only funds or payment methods you are authorised to use. An organisation's representative must have authority to make a contribution on its behalf. A person unable to enter into the transaction independently must obtain the necessary lawful assistance or consent.

3. What a donation supports

Donations support our school-community vision-access activities and the reasonable coordination, delivery and operating costs needed to carry them out. These may include screening access, professional assessments, prescribed spectacles, suitable low-vision aids, education, referrals and follow-through.

A donation is not a purchase of goods, an individual medical appointment, an investment or a promise of financial return. No product is shipped to the donor in exchange for an ordinary donation. Clinical decisions and regulated clinical services remain with appropriately qualified practitioners.

Unless we expressly accept a restriction in writing, contributions support the Foundation's charitable purposes rather than guaranteeing a particular learner, item or outreach date. A payment reference alone does not create a separately agreed restricted grant. Where we accept a restricted gift, we will respect its agreed purpose; material changes are handled as described in our refund policy or the written agreement.

4. Payment amounts, currency and confirmation

The donor chooses the contribution amount and must review it before authorising payment. Amounts displayed by our website are in South African rand (ZAR) unless expressly stated otherwise. Only the payment methods actually offered at checkout are available for that transaction.

Where the website offers Payfast checkout, you are redirected to the payment provider to authorise payment. A return to our website, a submission acknowledgement or a bank authorisation hold does not by itself establish that the Foundation has received a completed payment. Payment status is checked against the provider's and bank's records.

Donors using an overseas card or sending a cross-border transfer should check their bank's exchange rate, transfer charges and applicable requirements before authorising payment. Please obtain verified beneficiary and currency-specific instructions from us before making an international bank transfer.

The Foundation remains the contact for donation questions, programme information, cancellation requests and refunds; the payment provider processes the payment. Do not send card numbers, security codes, passwords or one-time PINs to us by email or through an enquiry form. Our website does not ask you to enter card details into its own enquiry forms.

5. Donation records

Donation acknowledgements and ordinary receipts are available upon request after we verify receipt of the funds. Please provide the donation date, amount and transaction reference. These records confirm the contribution received.

6. Cancellations, refunds and recurring instructions

You may stop before authorising payment. Once a payment has been processed, any return of funds must follow our Cancellation & Refund Policy. It explains duplicate or mistaken donations, suspected unauthorised payments, change-of-mind requests, campaign changes and how approved refunds are returned.

A one-time donation does not authorise repeated charges. Our current website donation form is for one-time contributions. Any separate recurring arrangement must be expressly authorised and explain its amount, frequency and cancellation method. A standing order created with your own bank must also be cancelled with that bank.

7. Programme information and delivery

Outreach plans depend on school permissions, professional partners, available resources and learner needs. We distinguish planned work from documented delivery. A proposed date or target is not a guarantee that a particular programme or service will occur. We will communicate material campaign changes and handle any accepted restricted contributions fairly under the agreed terms and applicable law.

Website eye-health information is educational and is not individual diagnosis or treatment advice. Contact an appropriate healthcare professional for an individual clinical concern.

8. Privacy and website materials

We handle enquiry and donation information for legitimate communication, payment administration, fraud prevention, recordkeeping and other purposes explained in our Privacy notice. Donation does not automatically enrol you in marketing or give a sponsor rights to a learner's personal information or image.

Website text, photographs, logos and other materials remain protected by the rights of their owners. Do not reuse identifiable learner photographs, imply the Foundation's endorsement, or use our identity for fundraising without permission. Linking to public programme information is welcome when it does not misrepresent our work.

9. Problems, applicable law and changes

Please report a payment or website problem to info@rolledsleevesfoundation.org. We will investigate and respond with the next steps. Nothing in these terms requires you to give up a right to approach your bank, payment provider, regulator or a competent court.

South African law governs these terms, subject to any mandatory protections that apply in your jurisdiction. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits a statutory cancellation, refund or other right, including rights under the Consumer Protection Act or Electronic Communications and Transactions Act where applicable.

We may update these terms for future website use and contributions, showing the effective date above. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights attached to an earlier donation or override a separate written agreement.
